Full Moon Sitting

Predawn Moon bathing earthly forms,
Playing a game of unveiling with shadows.

Fresh breeze fills heart chambers
Wisps of freedom mingle with the etheric presence of Autumn trees.

Leaves rustle then leap into flight,
Chasing ghosts of butterflies gone south.

An eternal pause, we do not age here
Archetypal silence emerges out of holes between moments.

We drink this stillness with the mouths of our souls
Something complete and all-pervading is nourished,
Inoculating us from the illusion of death and decay.

All thoughts fallen away, we sit
Being the Full Moon in Autumn.

Service

I have accepted from the high priest
The bowl of Hemlock
And drank every drop
in pledge of service to thee beloved.

You have taken me off the Cross,
I felt the nails pulled from my hands and feet,
The rough hewn wood scraping my back
as I slid down.

Yet how much longer beloved
Must I wait
Until they embrace consumes me
In Love!
